Why I became a booger

That photo is toooo much but how true some you tell you are a blogger and they think something is wrong and it might be catchy…LOL

I had met some people that had a website and I thought it would be cool to have one. I had one in previous years but had accidentally lost the name and the website… oops

It had been a while and I was told there was some new CMS (Content Management System) platforms out there that were really cool but had just started and was open source programming. Things had come a long way since college and the programming I had learned! I had been searching around the web for a one word domain name and I found Wrongblog. I tried WordPress and screwed it up and had to delete everything and start over I think it was WP 1.0 it’s been a while ago. I finally got somewhat of a grasp and started blogging for fun pretty much just about anything and everything then some people asked if they could give it a try so Wrongblog the open blog project had begun – everyone was welcome to use the blog. It became very popular fast and many had done guest blog posts there are some real funny ones 13 letters of the alphabet I hate… a must read!

As time went by I noticed that there were not many places to get your blog noticed or advertise, so to speak, to get readers so I thought I would create a place for bloggers to hang out and let everyone know who they are. At this point I was hooked on blogging and creating BlogDumps. I never thought I would have lasted this long blogging and finding the time to work on BlogDumps everyday… But as I have said, Hi – My name is Wolfbernz… I am a blogging junky, be careful or I will get you hooked. In fact I will give you a free blog on my server…LOL 😀 Just try it!!!

Then I decided I needed my own blog and a place to help others get on the web so I came up with Wolfbernz.com – My own little spot. I don’t get much time to blog I have so many other things to do on the web each day. I guess that’s why I like Top Sites Tuesday I set aside time at least once a week for just my own little tidbit 🙂

So why did I become a booger, well just because I could and thought it would be fun and it has been and I have gone way further then I ever had imagined. It has been great! I have made friends all over the world, read so many interesting things that I might have missed out on, commented on bloggers blogs when they were down and needed a smile. It has been very rewarding – not monetarily that’s for sure I have spent a – well you get the idea BlogDumps hasn’t been cheap lets put it that way. When the site makes money I put it right back into it to make it better each time. In fact I have some programmers helping me with all the new updates. It is nice to be able to have some help and not have to try to do it all like in the beginning 🙂

What I hear out my window

I guess it depends on what time of day it is around here – I do love the quiet in the evenings all you can hear is a few crickets and some frogs.Country life is nice especially during the summer.

When it is feeding time though the wolves can be a bit on the noisy side a few howls etc…LOL

The mornings are quiet most of the time, when it is dry you can hear the irrigation pumps running and the tractors scurrying around. The farmers do love to get up early around here! I think they enjoy working at night I guess because it is much cooler than during the day.

Every now and then during the night, when it is nice out and I have my bedroom window open, I am visited by a hoot owl…LOL All night long he wants to know Hoo Hooo sometimes I yell at him and tell him I don’t know Hoo! He seems to stay a few days and then moves on and doesn’t come back for awhile!

Football?

I do remember as a kid we would watch football with my dad on the weekends. As I grew into my teens I would still hang out and watch football on Sundays with him. We would get chips and a few goodies and have a great time. I was a Dallas fan then, it was the Roger Staubach Dallas Cowboys era – Roger Staubach joined the Dallas Cowboys as a 27-year-old rookie in 1969 and lasted to 1979. He was pretty awesome of a quarterback you have to admit.

As I grew a bit older it seemed as though I didn’t have as much time I was working and trying to make a buck to take care of the kids. I had to work when work was there there due to self employment. I did find myself trying to keep up with the most important games but they seemed to fade away with time.

My boys were into baseball so I was more into that game while they grew up. But as little league passed and Boy Scouts came along football seemed to grow into a Sunday afternoon nap. It seems as though every time I try to watch a football game on a Sunday afternoon I would fall asleep and nap away and then wake to the overview of the game at the end…LOL

I have to admit though I do watch the big game of the year but I wonder if it’s for the commercials now instead of the game… Things have changed a lot since I started to watch Football. Who knows maybe it will go full circle I know spend every Sunday with my son and his son so maybe it will be a tradition… The naps are already…LOL – He is a big boy already and maybe he will like to play the game… The Grandson is the best and just when you think your down and having a rough day he laughs and all the hard work seems worth it in the end.

No rest for the wicked… LOL

This is toooo much! I had a rush job in the shop this morning so no coffee and no easy chair today!

I kept singing that song “No Rest For The Wicked” I don’t know why, it’s only Tuesday and I feel like I have worked a full week already!

Now I have to run out the door and get to the newspaper before the deadline to make this weeks publication 🙂
OMG… It’s a go go go day!

My thoughts this morning take me to changes… It’s getting close to that time of year when everything begins to change. Not just the seasons but people themselves begin to hustle and bustle so to speak…

The kids are on their way back to school and in some cases already are.

I guess I got to this subject watching the bus go by down our country road remembering the easy days of when the kids were young and getting on that bus. I would clean house and get things ready to go while Trina would drive them down our long lane. Was it because we could try to, and were able to, keep them from making mistakes is that why it seems so simple then? Yes, they do grow up and change, their problems do to.

I think it was much easier when they were little.

I myself find change in my life as I get older I look back at things I have done and accomplished and I think back to how could I have done that better, I know I have a perfectionist problem.

As I have grown I find that now it is easier to say to myself “do you really want to do this” and I find it is easier to take the simple and more loving way out. ( Not that I was ever stubborn and stood my ground ) Is this due to getting older and I want to show how much I really care? I am not sure but I do like it. I have a customer he says the first 100 years is the hardest… LOL I think he is right! I am glad to see change in my life and that I have the ability to stop myself when it’s easy to get upset over trivial things and just say “Oh well, that’s life”.

I was on my way home yesterday from the lumber yard they loaded the truck horribly bad and the material fell out on the road. Normally years ago I would be upset and very unhappy, probably get home grumpy. I got home and unloaded went in the house and took it out on the garbage, the dishes, the vacuum cleaner, the laundry, by the time I was done the house was spotless and I didn’t remember it had happened I was in bed asleep, it’s growing up I guess.

So here it is Top Sites Tuesday – I am back in the easy chair waiting for a delivery truck and then off to the shop after I finish all my web site work. Yes, I do it all from the easy chair- now I just need an easy button!
It’s another beautiful day… I love this time of year cool at night and warm sun during the day 🙂 Good working weather. *Sips Latte*

I hope I am not on the end of the line on the truck I have a lot to do today. But if so there is plenty to do around here. It seems as though the work on the farm is never done.

Tuesday Two Thoughts

Here I am it’s early this Tuesday it’s been so hot that the air conditioner has fogged the double pain windows on the inside of the house… At first I thought it was foggy outside… LOL The windows have cleared and all the hay has been cut so it’s just green fields across the landscape. If one listens carefully the quiet sound of the spinning windmills can be heard along with an occasional howl from the wolves. It’s always so pleasant here it’s here on the farm – it’s hard to be self employed, I have to use great self discipline and self motivation to get moving and get work done so I can do what all Americans do… Pay Bills! I have been self employed since 1982 and yes, I chose a hard life.

I laugh and tell people when they ask why I’m self employed and I say “It’s because I couldn’t handle a regular job.” Most think it’s an easy life but it really isn’t. Sure you can do whatever you want to but in the end you will pay for it one way or the other. I guess what got me to this thought was the award given to me by Bud in my last post, the word versatile. This is one of the key points to being successful in anything we do being self employed and staying ahead of the game. The ability to change gears and and then stay focused on what the task at hand is and then change back again without missing a beat. Versatile is having more than one source of income in order to make it through the tough times… Not that our economy is having a tough time!

It’s time as Americans we demand that our government stop this madness of spending our way out if trouble – it just isn’t going to work. Let me do that with my corporation and I will be blogging from jail! Why we have to police the world and keep spending money on everyone else but our own people is beyond me. I look at the TV and it used to be Feed the Children and it would be kids across the globe hungry – you know you have seen them. The other day it was Feed the Children – Americans feeding Americans. How many families would fifty bucks make a difference right now… A lot -yeah that’s the same thought I had! So why do we just sit back and let this happen.

Is it that we feel oppressed by the media that we can do nothing but accept this. Have we given up on writing our representatives and congressmen? We did employ them so maybe some direction wouldn’t hurt. I wouldn’t hire a carpenter and just say build me a house and not give him a plan. I don’t have all the answers but I can say if our great country was run as a business and not the way it has been we would still be excuse me… Kicking Ass and taking names. I have an app on my phone for the national debt and if every man, woman, and child were to write a check for $43,543.63 we could bring our Nations check book to a zero balance. That is just too much and for what agenda is all this debt for may I ask? It is hard to believe our economy has arrived to this point and so many are suffering.

Oh heavens, I have gone off on a rant I don’t do this often so thanks for reading I hope I didn’t bore you 🙂

Two Thoughts

As I sit here gazing out the window from the easy chair this morning I have to wonder what and why our system is so screwy. We have a Jeep in the family a, well, used to be nice one… Rolled,crashed and badly bruised.

No one was hurt but when I talked to the police officer there was a ticket issued for negligent driving. So now you want to know what happened.

My son was coming home from his girl friends house. I told him to be home early, he’s a good kid so he was doing just that. He was on a back country road (one of many in our area) he looked at the radio to see the time and when he looked up a car was going to hit him head-on. So he did what we would all do – swerved and went for the ditch on the side figuring a ditch wouldn’t hurt so bad. That and the jeep being a monster jeep he would have probably ended up driving over them and someone would have been hurt bad. The jeep went up the embankment and flipped over. My son was ok but we sent him to the hospital anyway. So that’s what happened.

Now Thought number two. I asked the not-so-kind officer why he was given a ticket? He replied… “He looked at the radio and didn’t keep his eyes on the road at all times so he was negligent”… But had he hit the other car it would be there fault. (They just left him there and kept going)

So, Hmmmm The clock is on the radio do you think the officer ever looks at his clock or radio? How about speedometers so the next time I get pulled over for a speeding ticket do I just say I didn’t want to be a negligent driver so I didn’t look? What about the driver who has a stick shift and misses a gear – I guess you just grind ’em till you find ’em!

I talked to the insurance company and low and behold they said the same thing and then they asked how fast was he driving… OMG, you have to be kidding like I am going to tell you he looked down at the speedometer too!

The officer told my son it was his honesty that got him the ticket and never tell anyone you took your eyes off the road for any reason. I told the not-so-kind officer if I ever have a situation like this you can bet I will make sure do scrape the whole side of the car that was going to hit me so I can avoid being charged with such a ridiculous ticket and I want to thank him for teaching my son to lie to get out of a ticket. I just don’t get it.

I called yesterday to find out where the vehicle was and the insurance lady said “We thought you had the car.” Then she said “No we have the car.” Then she said “No it is being towed to the collision center tomorrow.” Then she said “Wow this happened last month, this has been a drawn out ordeal! We have cut a check for the damage but we haven’t checked the motor and under carriage the garage has to do that so we will do a supplemental payment if it costs more…”

Sorry, Third thought &%$#$##@@! I replied nicely yes, yes it has been long and drawn out… I will call the collision center tomorrow.
