My first thought as I wake to the sound of a dive bombing airplane… I wonder if he does it on purpose? He stayed just long enough to make sure I woke up. Nice having a neighbor down the street with an airplane.

It’s strange to wake up to no stress, no deadlines, just drink my coffee and head out to get some work done. The last person we were doing work for gave me reason to question his integrity.

Example: he was mad at one of the painters, the painter did finish his job though but not fast enough. Come to find out after speaking with him his tags were out and he needed to go get his tools, ladder, sprayer etc… I asked him did you leave a 24 foot extension ladder? “Yes”

I told him the trash guy came by and was bragging that the ” boss” told him we are having an open house and to clean it up. As he bragged about getting the painters tools I preceded to tell him who they belonged to. The trash guy grinned and told three of us that the “boss” had made a plan… ” if he asks for them I will tell him they were stolen” Really!!!???

Now I question what happened to my tools that came up missing? The electrician had a generator stolen, need I go on?

The funniest things happen to us, we were making decisions based on this builders schedule.

We told the neighbor farmer to take those fields we won’t have time to plant and take care of all this, I guess no veggies for the hungry. I felt bad but what were we to do? The money is too good and we have deadlines!

My question is do you think our maker said ” Oh, no time? Let me show you a few things. It appears you have lost your way and aren’t thinking straight.”

Than all these things that were supposedly said and done were lies, truth hidden but all exposed.

So now we are back in the groove, time for the web work and our own construction business working right down the road and at a daycare at that we even get nap time!

My second thought, would you call the two people in question thieves or liars?

Ps. Now that Trina just told me we both just wrote almost the same post I’m adding a third thought.

I had a blast this weekend with the GK he got a youth .22 rifle for his birthday, of course Grandad will keep it in the safe on the farm for him until he’s older. Some say too young, I say teach and no kid gets hurt. My third thought is I need glasses he outshot me, lol

Attitude

Since I’ve had to take over driving, I can’t believe how bad the skills and attitude of drivers out here on the road. I’m actually kind of tired of it.

The other day, riding home tired, the light turns green and I’m so tired that I’m slower at punching the gas. That turned out to be a good thing because if I had punched the gas on green I would have slammed into the little blonde girl who decided to run the red and make a turn right in front of us. I never even saw her coming.

Then there’s the guy in the big giant fancy jacked up truck riding my bumper so close I could roll down my window and flick a booger at him. He whipped around and raced me to the stop light, cutting me off to get on car length ahead.

My first thought: When people get in there car do they check their common sense and patience at the door?

Then the other day we has another guy in a truck, all jacked up again, we’ll call him Mister Badass. (Remember the accident, Old Blue is out of commission and we’re driving a Chevy) so, Mister Badass decided to pass us on the right… He was on the side of the road.

My second thought: I probably should have behaved myself a little better. My 1990 Chevy 350 4×4 with 410 possi rear isn’t all jacked up, she’s multi-colored, and looks a bit old. So when he. So when he is door to door, I punched it and flipped him off. This old truck roared to life and left him in the dust. As childish as it might be, it felt good anyway.

But really how does anyone expect you to have a good attitude when the roads are full of morons?!?

Has TV gone stupid?

I tried to watch some of the TV shows on regular TV. It is as if they are all struggling to act.
It just doesn’t seem to have the same appeal as years ago when I was an avid watcher.
The jokes seem strained, the fake laughter in the background, it’s just not working.
The whole time I watch these shows, Two Broke Girls is one of them. My first thought is, this is comedy?

There is one show that the actors seem to play their role well, The Big Bang Theory.
I have tried to watch some of the reality shows but I don’t make it through ten minutes.
The awards shows for the actors and musicians don’t seem to have that great of an appeal either.
Is it just me? Or do others feel the same way?

My second thought is I am glad I have a couple of winter projects to work on instead of watching TV.
I have the 1968 Alumacraft Alpex Sierra to finish.

Already she looks better than when I brought her home. The boat was dirty and no trailer, just a mess

This is after compleating the new bottom and re gel coating the entire boat and building a new trailer for it.

Then there is my green power station… My “science fair project” as Trina calls it.

I have been working on re wiring and making it more efficient so when the new windmill gets here I am ready. I think I have rewired it a dozen times and I still need to add some more switches and regulators. After being on the sailboat for so long I have found that I can do the same off grid electric work on land, I have started wiring the shop with low voltage lighting and power. The 3200 sq. ft. shop with full bathroom and tools running and the apt used 56 kilowatt hours this week at 13.8 cents a kilowatt hour, roughly $7.72 for the week.

Our Government

Well, I am goings get my windmill from china, it’s on the boat and so far I’ve heard of no fines! I’m hoping for the best, cross your fingers!

We have all been hearing about the government shut down, heck I thought it wouldn’t effect me. Ha ha jokes on me!
That’s another blog post though.
I’m just not happy with the whole mess and some are out to just make “points”
My first thought is they work for us so as in any business if they can’t do their job I say fire them send their ass home and get some new blood on capital hill that can fix this mess and are willing to work together.
As I watched sixty minutes the other day the analyst on the show is right, a country with no leadership in place that can make its economy strong and prosperous basically is weak, a soft spot for our national security.

We really need some new people with new vision of where our country should be headed.

My second thought is we should do more in this country to use renewable energy kinetic and solar.
We really need to reduce the use and dependency on fossil fuel.
It should be mandatory if we are to build a new school the it should have a solar field to power it. Gosh they spend millions and the waste!
I really hope we can pull it together

Fall Is Here!

As we drove off to work today headed down the lane. I noticed something different, it usually looks so, well, just happy!
See what I mean 🙂

My first thought was… Crap Fall is here!

It’s almost hard to fathom we are going to stay, the cruisers are already at anchor in our area already heading South. The big schooners will be in Cambridge for a rendezvous on Sunday.

Oh hell it’s a good thing they pulled the boat out of the water already!

As I started my work this morning I remembered why I like to tear up old houses. Some would say I’m crazy, ah heck, maybe they are right lol

But it’s a good feeling when you take a house that looks like this

And turn into this, the house is over a hundred years old.
The electrician trenched pathways through the old plaster everywhere, the trim was all messed up, paneling in many rooms and falling down plaster… What a mess to say the least

It came out pretty good, nice and clean. The house even already has a contract for purchase on it 🙂

And Loving It

We are on our way to work this crisp fall morning, about an hour drive.
Trina and I joke around finding funny songs on Pandora.
Some would say yuck what a drive, we just seem to make it fun.

My first thought as we travel this morning is… Because of what we do we are together all the time and enjoy every minute. Working, traveling or just hanging out.

I don’t know to many other couples that are together as much as we are. Some have asked “don’t you need a break?” We always laugh and say at the same time he/she wouldn’t be gone two minutes!
It seems as though we have done so much together, but those are the memories that make a wealthy soul. The memories we share as we go through life.

I don’t know why but whatever we are doing it always seems like we are on another adventure.

My second thought before I go paint today. It doesn’t take money to be happy.
Having a best friend, soulmate and perfect wife, well need I say more?

Life is good and I’m loving it!
