I do remember as a kid we would watch football with my dad on the weekends. As I grew into my teens I would still hang out and watch football on Sundays with him. We would get chips and a few goodies and have a great time. I was a Dallas fan then, it was the Roger Staubach Dallas Cowboys era – Roger Staubach joined the Dallas Cowboys as a 27-year-old rookie in 1969 and lasted to 1979. He was pretty awesome of a quarterback you have to admit.
As I grew a bit older it seemed as though I didn’t have as much time I was working and trying to make a buck to take care of the kids. I had to work when work was there there due to self employment. I did find myself trying to keep up with the most important games but they seemed to fade away with time.
My boys were into baseball so I was more into that game while they grew up. But as little league passed and Boy Scouts came along football seemed to grow into a Sunday afternoon nap. It seems as though every time I try to watch a football game on a Sunday afternoon I would fall asleep and nap away and then wake to the overview of the game at the end…LOL
I have to admit though I do watch the big game of the year but I wonder if it’s for the commercials now instead of the game… Things have changed a lot since I started to watch Football. Who knows maybe it will go full circle I know spend every Sunday with my son and his son so maybe it will be a tradition… The naps are already…LOL – He is a big boy already and maybe he will like to play the game… The Grandson is the best and just when you think your down and having a rough day he laughs and all the hard work seems worth it in the end.

Cowboys! I’ve got Cowboys collectibles in my house mainly because my husband likes the Cowboys (though he isn’t really much into football either). Like you, sometimes there are other things in life that take precedence over football games. 🙂

Yes, I remember the games on Sundays and I would try to sleep through them but the kids wanted my attention so I did not get to many naps, darn! LOL! I never have had the time to sit for that long to watch a whole game unless I was there in person so I really don’t care much one way or the other.

During the Staubach era, I was a Packer fan and I’ve always hated the “America’s Team” nonsense. But Staubach was the kind of man you could root against but respect, a man who served his country and set a good example. But I have to tell you, Wolf, you’ve got it all wrong …. GOLF is for napping!
