Two frozen thoughts

Not much to say here
1. It’s really cold
2. IT’S REALLY FRGGIN COLD

Sorry didn’t mean to yell that last one lol

So I get up and realize I have mail on my iPad.
Only certain mail goes there, yes I am going o get a windmill after all!
Lets recap… Ordered windmill, largest storm ever to hit the china sea, paperwork filed with customs ISF Late 10 ( whatever the —- that ment) the cargo arrived late, then allocated and trucked to Mongolia, cargo is no held hostage for correct cargo by other recipients for their cargo, negotiations accomplished, paid extra 500 or so split by everyone, should arrive to Baltimore Port tomorrow. My first thought (said out loud) was wow I am really going to pull this off.

So the morning goes along, you know getting ready, coffee… Trina says you talk about this as if you thought you weren’t going to get one. My second thought was do I really say what comes to mind!?
Yes dear you are correct, I took the chance and just figured I through the money away. Her reply “so that’s why you have been so calm about this?”
Yes to be truthful, thinking that I was paying in full to the supplier in china, the forwarder, the agent, customs and God only knows who else if it really got here it would have to be a miracle.
My lovely wife’s reply, only you…

Has TV gone stupid?

I tried to watch some of the TV shows on regular TV. It is as if they are all struggling to act.
It just doesn’t seem to have the same appeal as years ago when I was an avid watcher.
The jokes seem strained, the fake laughter in the background, it’s just not working.
The whole time I watch these shows, Two Broke Girls is one of them. My first thought is, this is comedy?

There is one show that the actors seem to play their role well, The Big Bang Theory.
I have tried to watch some of the reality shows but I don’t make it through ten minutes.
The awards shows for the actors and musicians don’t seem to have that great of an appeal either.
Is it just me? Or do others feel the same way?

My second thought is I am glad I have a couple of winter projects to work on instead of watching TV.
I have the 1968 Alumacraft Alpex Sierra to finish.

Already she looks better than when I brought her home. The boat was dirty and no trailer, just a mess

This is after compleating the new bottom and re gel coating the entire boat and building a new trailer for it.

Then there is my green power station… My “science fair project” as Trina calls it.

I have been working on re wiring and making it more efficient so when the new windmill gets here I am ready. I think I have rewired it a dozen times and I still need to add some more switches and regulators. After being on the sailboat for so long I have found that I can do the same off grid electric work on land, I have started wiring the shop with low voltage lighting and power. The 3200 sq. ft. shop with full bathroom and tools running and the apt used 56 kilowatt hours this week at 13.8 cents a kilowatt hour, roughly $7.72 for the week.

Our Government

Well, I am goings get my windmill from china, it’s on the boat and so far I’ve heard of no fines! I’m hoping for the best, cross your fingers!

We have all been hearing about the government shut down, heck I thought it wouldn’t effect me. Ha ha jokes on me!
That’s another blog post though.
I’m just not happy with the whole mess and some are out to just make “points”
My first thought is they work for us so as in any business if they can’t do their job I say fire them send their ass home and get some new blood on capital hill that can fix this mess and are willing to work together.
As I watched sixty minutes the other day the analyst on the show is right, a country with no leadership in place that can make its economy strong and prosperous basically is weak, a soft spot for our national security.

We really need some new people with new vision of where our country should be headed.

My second thought is we should do more in this country to use renewable energy kinetic and solar.
We really need to reduce the use and dependency on fossil fuel.
It should be mandatory if we are to build a new school the it should have a solar field to power it. Gosh they spend millions and the waste!
I really hope we can pull it together

Importing

As I got up this morning I started to read my email. I received one from a China distributor… Across the top it says please send this “ISF” to your local customs.

My first thought was was what the heck is that and it must cost money!
I called their office again ” I’m sorry due to the recent furlough our office is closed, however you may try our web site”

?!?

I looked at the website, I’m not usually one to have issues or be confused on the web but Holy Crap!

I did get as far as it must be filed 24 hours before leaving its port and 72 hours before it arrives or it’s a 5,000 dollar penalty.
And ISF stands for Importer Security Filing

Ok why the heck are you importing from china you may ask.
It would be nice to buy USA goods for wind turbines but it is four times the cost and at times are of less quality. Well for one that we would use one on a small farm.

You guessed my second thought I’m sure…. Yep I am going to work today and this is going to be fun.
I know it’s Tuesday but I missed Monday so it’s Monday part two today!

Electricity is fascinating to me as you all know. I have been reading about Nikola Tesla’s Aerial System.
I have found it so interesting that there is electricity able to be captured this way.
A small module can be built that will work and capture electric for a few bucks. I know this seems crazy.

As I read on in the PDF found here I was more interested in Thomas Henry Moray’s System This man was very talented to say the least.

He created a very cool device that could produce electricity and it was self contained device. This device weighed in at fifty pounds and was tested in many places to prove it’s workability. If you want to read some interesting history and how we really don’t have to use the fossil fuel check out the link.
It’s no wonder that someone tried to assassinate him and threatened his family, he quit working on this and moved on to medical devices. His machine destroyed etc… I am not surprised to say the least but as a thought, how would things be if he was praised for his work and encouraged to continue? I wonder if we would have self sufficient homes with one of these devises? If the self contained device weighed in at fifty pounds so long ago I bet it would even be smaller with today’s technology.

I think it would be a fun project to try to build one of the smaller devices that Tesla or Moray designed, just to try it. I have the room here on the farm and all the other farmers around me would just say there he goes again I wonder what the heck he is building now…lol As I string my 57 foot insulated wire between two poles.

What is really interesting is that with one antenna there is no limit to how many modules that can be used so thought number two of the day is if one works then twenty would be that much better right?
