Putting Things Back Together On Tuesday

As you all know we were to have this giant storm nail us here on the East coast. So I got prepared went to the store amongst all the madness…OMG you would think the world was going to end it was only going to last 12 hours max!
They kept saying it was going to hit us directly so I though I should leave up the windmills they will do just fine at 100 miles an hour no problem… Then they came out with an update that it would be worse so I chickened out 130 miles an hour is a big difference than 100 believe it or not especially with gusts on top of that. So I took everything apart and put it in the shop.

My First thought is since I took them all down and put them away that is probably why we had eighty mile an hour winds – had I left them up it would have been a category 3 storm so I guess it was for the best.
Now I am putting it all back together but doing some maintenance at the same time. I think I will put the windmills up a bit stronger and just go for it next time.

Second thought of the day is I am working here on the farm Putting things back together, I finally have paid off my tractor so now I get on it to level out some sunken areas form all the water and cut some ares that will flourish do to all the rain.  Here is the deal: I paid my last payment and now it over-heats, it doesn’t want to start right, the key doesn’t shut it off and I think the starter is going out! On top of that the hydraulic fluid is leaking out of the back and cruise control stopped working so I am going to have to go complete a major maintenance to it this week and hope it isn’t dead! Well they are never dead they just need work. But as anyone knows the tractor is the life of the farm.

The beauty of the storm as it rolled in just before nightfall!

So Off I go to work on all this fun stuff right in the middle of my regular work – I have a house that needs repair work on the front porch, another that they have a “list” for me to repair around the house and another that a new front entry needs putting in… I need some rest just thinking about it all!

Have a great Tuesday

As with all things, even tractors, the minute you pay them off they break. It is a rule. The manufacturer has a timer that directly links to a projected payoff date. It rarely fails to happen.

Taking apart the windmills…that makes me tired thinking about the work involved and I didn’t even have to do it.

Yep – all things break when you don’t owe on them anymore – you can almost always count on it!

Lots of work to take down those windmills, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry 🙂 And anyway your design makes it easier than it looks!

That’s it… I never though about the timer! They have it set to go off so you have to get it fixed or buy new!

The windmills are not to bad just a little time that’s all. 🙂

OK, Wolf, I have a question regarding Irene. Do you think the hype was overblown, like some news reports say and that we are becoming a nation of alarmists? Or are we just becoming more sensible? I’d like you opinion as a person who was really affected by the predictions.

Great sunset.

Yes it was way over done by the media and I don’t know why.
I just hope the next time everyone will take it serious.
