Where’s The Beef?

Some might think I’m writing about a fight but those that remember the commercial will know where I am going with this…lol

We worked hard yesterday and it was really hot out we are working on a house in need of some repair and clean up. Trina had to make a quick run to the store for supplies and came back with a few McDonald’s ice teas. Surprisingly they hit the spot, after all it was in the high nineties.

I was about spent not realizing it was late and six in the evening so we loaded up and off we went. Trina said “I am so thirsty” – me too – “We should go get a couple of those ice tea’s they hit the spot.”

It wasn’t that far out of the way to go to McDonald’s on the way home so we headed that direction and when we got there they had a special on a Big Mac and fries for a couple bucks. I don’t eat there normally but I said to Trina we should just get something to eat it’s late and by the time we get home neither of us will want to make or do anything about food, we’re so tired.

My First thought was: Crap I hope this isn’t going to be a bad idea I am not too sure about eating here!

So we went through the line in seconds flat, I have no idea how they can move that many people through the line so fast it’s incredible!

We got our food and then I thought what the heck lets park in the shade, down some cool ice tea, and eat our sandwiches. I opened the box and looked at the Big Mac and the first thing that came to mind was were is the beef? I said “hey Trina do you think they could have made this any thinner?” I am a carpenter I know what 1/8 inch looks like and it could not have been much thicker than that!

So my second though is where the heck do they get this beef from and how do they cook it and keep it together? There is no way they are cooking them on site and having them so consistent in size.
I did eat and I didn’t die from it but I don’t know if I will be getting another one soon especially for the price when it is not on sale. I will stick to the ones they make while you wait I think it is worth it to get something a bit better.

Have a great Tuesday

You know, I, too, have wondered about the beef…those burgers seem to have gotten smaller and smaller over the years. I don’t care how much they say it’s still the same amount. I don’t see it!

One tip I do have though whenever going out to these Fast Food places is to always check your food bags before you leave. There are soooooo many times my order has been filled wrong. Who likes having to go back to the counters when there’s a long line or have to go back around the drive thru to tell them something’s missing? Not I!

Enjoy your week!

Hi Liggy

Ohhhh I have to agree… Check the bag or you will be missing something for sure!

I forgot to add the photo this morning, I swear the beef is so thin it’s incredible.

It has been years since I had a burger at McDonalds. Because, I rarely eat red meat, when I do, I go for the big thick juicy version. If I am going to splurge it has to be worth it.

I do like the fast food places that have a brewed tea as opposed to that bottled or canned stuff.

The one thing about the tea at McDonalds though is that sweet tea is 1 dollar and the unsweet (which is what I drink) is something like $1.69. You pay extra to have them NOT put sugar in.

Have a great day…click

I used to drink a lot of diet Coke but recently I started stopping at fast food places that have brewed tea … and lemonade … and making myself Arnold Palmers. I think the uncarbonated tea is better for me than all that soda.

I actually enjoy a Big Mac now and then. If you’re going to eat fast food, you have to spend more time eating it and less time looking at it!
