Wine and Cheese

My son has move to Tennessee because there is more work (not wine and cheese lol) and better opportunities for young men there.
I hated to see him and his wife go but they are doing so well it was worth the move. I miss them but it’s not like they moved all the way across the country.
I know – where you going with this Wolf, Well when they left they left behind a large five gallon bottle… I though Oh a change jar how cool is that. Then I thought … Wow it would take a life time to fill it up, so what to do with it?
So my first thought was to check out eBay and and see what they had for wine kits!
For just a couple dollars I bought a stopper and what they call a bubbler or Airlock to let the fermentation gasses out and nothing into the bottle. I didn’t realize how easy it was to make wine, add the fruit, the wine yeast and wait about 28 days and it’s done. Unless you like it sweet then you add sugar and it will sweeten it and make the fermentation faster. I could not believe how cheep this was to get started doing this.
The Jug will make twenty or so bottles of wine when finished. So my second though is it won’t take a life time to fill or empty this big bottle so it’s a much better use for it than just sitting around waiting for me to throw change in it. The best part is Trina likes wine and cheese so I will be in the good graces when it’s finished.

Have a great week

oh wow! your blog theme looks different from the way it looked this morning. nice!!!

That wine looks like it’s gonna taste good! I made some with various local fruits for a science project in high school (in the Philippines…no drinking age limit there that I know of). The wine was really good, although I didn’t get to enjoy it. The boys in my class finished it all up before I could bring any back home.

Ah, the memories! Here’s your click for a happy rest of the week! 🙂

I’m back….That is going to be a whole lotta wine. Red wine is the worst for headaches and hangovers though. (supposedly the tannins). Pumpkin growners, boat fixers and wine makers…there truly isn’t anything you can’t do is there???

Clicks to you

Have a great week!!
